Planning for the fifth annual 8595 Homecoming Hospitality Tent is now underway!

Between 300-450 alumni, friends, and family members have stopped by each Homecoming, and since three classes (`85, `90, and `95) will celebrate reunions in 2010—an event which occurs only pentannually—we think turnout will be the strongest yet seen.
As in the past, there will be no charge for admission, food, or beverages. Costs will again be covered by Benefactors from the three reunion years, as well as the eight non-reunion years. We are also looking for a few Corporate Sponsors.
With increased attendance, we will also need a greater level of support to maintain or increase the quantity of complementary food and beverages. So, this year we will not commit to expenses until we have revenue that matches or exceeds the value of what we will give away. That means we need like-minded alumni to step up and become Benefactors now, so we can continue to offer the same amenities as in the past.
The 8595 tent opens at 10:30am on Saturday, October 23rd, 2010, at Crim Dell Meadow and will close before the end of the game. Please note that we have moved to Crim Dell Meadow (immediately West of the Sunken Gardens) due to the construction of the new Career Services building at the location of our 2006-2008 site. Our new location is shaded and has a great view of old campus and is still close to the stadium and bathrooms at Sadler Center. It was quite popular in 2009!
Gold Level Benefactors are those who contribute $200+ (per individual) per year and Green Level Benefactors are those who provide funds of $100-199 (per individual) per year. Each contributor will receive a basic accounting of expenses and revenue at the end of the calendar year. Please note that contributions are not tax deductible.
Homecoming has long been the preeminent event of the William & Mary alumni calendar; now, the 8595 tent provides a festive new complement to the weekend's official happenings. Currently in its fifth year, 8595 is focused on the classes of 1985 through 1995; it is a way to rendezvous with classmates and friends you might not otherwise have run into in the larger crowds.
While the focus of the 8595 effort is on this 11-year span of class years, the 8595 tent is open to all. And, as in 2007-2009, there will again be a 9606 tent next to our space as an added bonus for the alumni in the youngest part of our range. See the 9606 Website at http://www.9606.org for more.
